Our kids know very, very little of Gabi's parents. My mom and her husband live in Houston; my dad and his wife and daughter live in Panama; and we have lived for the past 7 years in Israel. This trip was a great opportunity for us to reconnect our kids to their grandparents. Here's a mix of video and pics that we captured in Houston that reflect some of the grandkid/grandparent bonding we hoped for. Exploring Greater Houston with Their Grandparents
At the Famous Houston Children's Museum
AT Walmart!!! I so missed Walmart
At the Houston Health Museum
Playing a cool board game Grandmother bought them
In the kitchen with Grandmother, most important explorations!
Watching the kids, Houston's Galleria Ice Skating Rink
In NASA with Grandfather Nechemia

it's 32 seconds of pure joy. i think it is moments like this that we hold on to in our hearts for a long long time. looks so simple, so nothing really, but it is so much.
just sharing, one generation doing for the another one. one of the reasons we just couldn't leave houston so quickly. you gotta hold onto to moments when you get to just be w
ith your grandparents.
Our nomadic family of five is traveling the world on a budget of $1200 a month. We dumped our (really lovely) modern lives in Northern Israel and dare to live with no boss, no mortgage payments, no hectic routines. Today, we decide how to spend our precious time on earth- exploring, volunteering, getting in shape, bonding our family, and discovering ourselves.
For us, being a nomadic family means living out our dreams today, not 'some day'. It also means facing who we are, what we really believe in, and figuring out how to be 'in our voice' also as we travel; how to balance internet and a plug-free life; how we invest in our family and find those precious spaces for ourselves.
Thanks for joining us in that field. I'll save a place for you (and Rumi) on the grass. (clueless which field, I'll send you my new favorite quote in an email. Just ask!)
