David Days

We find that all sorts of amazing experiences and gifts are magnetized to us on this little trip of ours. One of them is called David Barron. We met David in La Fortuna on our way from our ranch home in La Lucha de la Tigra in Costa Rica to Boquete, Panama. We hung out for a couple of days and thought he was just adorable.A couple of weeks later, we've settled down in my father's cozy cabana in Alto Boquete, Panama and David joins us for five days of magic. This entry highlights some of the magic and fun David brought into our lives while he was with us.

David is about as sweet and adorable as they come. He's amazing to talk with, knows so much about the world and physics and interesting stuff that makes for great conversation when Kobi, David, and I laid down under the starry sky one night and watched falling stars. And, David is amazing with our kids.

I feel that whatever I write could not do justice to the love and excitement he bought to our family his days with it. We lovingly refer to them as "David Days". He taught the kids about gymnastics and further impassioned us all to get in shape. He sat for hours and just hung out with three little (and often loud) children with the love of a dear uncle. David lived in our tent in the yard, hiked with us on Vocan Baru, and was really, truly a contributing, loving member of our family for his time with us.

Sort of like summer camp or a weekend convention, David's five days with us felt like a long, beautiful, bonding era together. Thanks to David, still today, I read to the kids (or make up my own) meditations. For the first time in our time on the road, I took out the children's meditations book (Star Kids: Meditations for Children) and started using it. Though they keep referring to their David meditations (your special place, the beach, and candy land); I think every time I do one now, they lovingly think of David, who sparked and initiated this lovely tradition into our lives.

You can read about his three month solo Latin American adventures and his version of his days with us. We're right after the bungee jumping pictures.
